UK Journal: Day 13 13/Aug/10 Fri

It was the day that we decided to go see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. I had a bad sleep but forced myself to go. The weather was gloomy, and it did start to rain just when we got out of St. James's Station. There was still a huge crowd since the sky was very unclear, but they eventually decided to do it in a much more simple way. The only thing we saw was a couple of block of the guards walking by. Very pathetic.

Anyway, the place itself still looked quite spectacle, especially when the sun came out again. To do the palace tour was in our schedule of the day as well, so we got in the line to get the tickets which cost us 1 and a half hours! But it poured down when we were in line, so it was not so bad to get the shelter in a way.

While waiting for our time to get in, we grabbed the sandwiches and coffee in the nearby cafe, it was quite nice and cheap actually. The tour was great, but the idea of seeing the palace from inside was simply amazing to even British people who mostly haven't done it yet. But the annoying security check and the invisible one year pass re-issue stand still spoiled it a bit unfortunately. Even though we never wanted to re-enter even Steve's sent a complaint mail and got a positive respond.

Steve originally was trying to guide me to take a walk in St. James's Park, but I was in a rather bad mood over the ticket thing and also it started to pour down again, we went straight back after a short stroll.
